Development[edit]
- Joseph has made a lot of commits: http://code.google.com/p/archivematica/source/list#1682
- Joseph been working on some testing, with the bad name sips. He seems to be having a problem with one of the control documents, that's in a "%" directory. He suspects it's database related.
- Joseph added exit status to exit codes in the MCP, and had those codes write to the job logging, to re-implement the colour coding in the dashboard.
- Joseph had some problems with SIP creation, where watched directories weren't "stopping watching" even when they were moved out of the sip creation directory. This caused some major problems while processing. I have a work around implemented, but it puts "ERRORS" into the MCP output log. Note: that log does not appear in the dashboard. He onsidering that a low priority, as currently it's working.
- Austin has been updating the debian package files to catch up to some source changes over the last month. daily builds are working again
Deployment[edit]
- Evelyn will contact RAC to check on the status of their email processing.
- Austin set up a vm instance of DSpace for testing.
Documentation[edit]
- Joseph has done some updating to the MCP wiki: http://archivematica.org/wiki/index.php?title=MCP.
- Austin added some info on setting up openntpd: http://archivematica.org/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_add_multiple_clients#Sync_Time_with_OpenNTPd
Testing[edit]
- Lately Joseph has seen a couple of Jobs lock up in the MCP, on jobs that activate on each file. He did some testing this morning and hasn't seen it yet.
- Evelyn has started testing exports from DSpace.

(10:37:35 AM) djjuhasz: Sevein: thanks for notes :) (10:37:56 AM) berwin22: DEV: there have been a lot of archivematica commits: (10:37:57 AM) berwin22: http://code.google.com/p/archivematica/source/list#1682 (10:39:00 AM) berwin22: Recently I've been working on some testing, with the bad name sips. (10:39:47 AM) epmclellan: how are transfer/SIP creation coming along? (10:42:14 AM) berwin22: I had some problems with SIP creation, where watched directories weren't "stopping watching" even when they were moved out of the sip creation directory. (10:42:40 AM) berwin22: I'm considering that a low priority, as currently it's working (10:43:12 AM) ARTi: Ive been updating the debian package files to catch up to some source changes over the last month. daily builds are working again (10:43:30 AM) berwin22: Lately I've seen a couple of Jobs lock up in the MCP, on jobs that activate on each file. I did some testing this morning and haven't seen it yet. (10:45:13 AM) epmclellan: any more word from Rockefeller about email testing? (10:45:53 AM) epmclellan: If not, maybe I should send them an email and ask for an update (10:46:13 AM) berwin22: I haven't heard anything (10:46:23 AM) ARTi: epmclellan: I think she was going away for a few weeks (10:46:35 AM) epmclellan: She's back this week for sure (10:46:42 AM) epmclellan: I'll give her a nudge (10:47:30 AM) epmclellan: any documentation news? (10:47:48 AM) epmclellan: nothing from me because it's been all consulting the last couple of weeks (10:48:00 AM) epmclellan: I'm looking forward to getting back to Archivematica next week (10:48:26 AM) ARTi: I added some info on setting up openntpd (10:48:34 AM) epmclellan: link? (10:48:35 AM) ***ARTi looks (10:49:12 AM) ARTi: http://archivematica.org/wiki/index.php?title=How_to_add_multiple_clients#Sync_Time_with_OpenNTPd (10:49:22 AM) berwin22: I've done some updating to the MCP wiki (10:49:22 AM) epmclellan: thanks (10:49:22 AM) berwin22: http://archivematica.org/wiki/index.php?title=MCP (10:49:30 AM) epmclellan: great (10:50:13 AM) djjuhasz: Looks like ARTi deployed some dlink testing sites yesterday? (10:50:44 AM) ARTi: dspace* (10:50:48 AM) djjuhasz: oops (10:50:53 AM) djjuhasz: thanks :) (10:51:09 AM) ARTi: I was drawing a blank... dlink.. was I playing with wireless.. wah? (10:51:13 AM) djjuhasz: lol (10:51:20 AM) epmclellan: yes, right, we're starting to test DSpace exports (10:51:24 AM) djjuhasz: cool! (10:51:29 AM) epmclellan: DSPace export = SIP for ARchivematica (10:51:47 AM) berwin22: I've asked Glenn from COV for some sample trim exports (10:51:58 AM) epmclellan: great (10:51:59 AM) berwin22: COV = city of vancouver (10:53:15 AM) berwin22: There was an interesting discussion about capturing time stamps, like date created, here: (10:53:15 AM) berwin22: https://groups.google.com/group/archivematica/browse_thread/thread/511fce800c0563b7?hl=en (10:54:12 AM) epmclellan: i should test that FITS always extracts the date created/modified (10:54:21 AM) epmclellan: I have checked but not rigorously (10:54:34 AM) epmclellan: I think I'll add an issue for that (10:54:45 AM) berwin22: ARTi and I spent some time looking at that, and we suspect that the underlying file system supports it, but not the os. (10:54:50 AM) djjuhasz: epmclellan: how did testing go with Misty's ruby script for video metadata? (10:55:08 AM) djjuhasz: Maybe that's old news, but I don't remember what happened with it (10:55:11 AM) epmclellan: I only had a little time for it but the script appeared to be working well (10:55:28 AM) epmclellan: but there's still an issue with different metadata being captured for different container formats (10:55:38 AM) epmclellan: makes it hard to do before and after comparisons (10:55:51 AM) djjuhasz: right, damn you video container formats! (10:55:55 AM) epmclellan: Misty: I'd like to get back to that again, next week (10:56:03 AM) epmclellan: djjuhasz: yeah, tell me about it (10:56:11 AM) epmclellan: I say we all use the same thing! (10:56:16 AM) epmclellan: everywhere! (10:56:20 AM) epmclellan: I will choose the format! (10:56:51 AM) djjuhasz: Oh, I was going to say we should let Microsoft dictate the video format. They are good folks right? (10:56:54 AM) djjuhasz: ;P (10:56:58 AM) epmclellan: um (10:57:01 AM) djjuhasz: lol (10:57:11 AM) epmclellan: don't know what to say... (10:57:23 AM) djjuhasz: just say NO to M$ (10:57:32 AM) epmclellan: done! (10:57:43 AM) epmclellan: any more Archivematica news? (10:57:58 AM) epmclellan: going, going... (10:58:01 AM) epmclellan: gone (10:58:26 AM) djjuhasz: epmclellan: did you check out that youtube video yet? ;) (10:58:38 AM) epmclellan: yes, and that's why I'm in an authoritarian mood (10:58:41 AM) djjuhasz: lol (10:58:53 AM) Misty: epmclellan: Sure thing. Were you coming across any issues in the script itself? (10:59:03 AM) epmclellan: no, the script ran well (10:59:33 AM) epmclellan: but I'd like to do a more rigorous analysis of what metadata gets captured (10:59:40 AM) berwin22: which vid? (10:59:46 AM) djjuhasz: Misty: I was talking to my Ruby on Rails buddy and he was saying that version management was a lot better in Rails in 1.9.2+? (10:59:46 AM) epmclellan: to try to meet the significant characteristics requirements (11:00:00 AM) epmclellan: berwin22: the one you originally sent out, I think (11:00:05 AM) djjuhasz: Something about automatic gem config or something (11:00:16 AM) epmclellan: Tetris/history of the Soviet Union (11:00:28 AM) berwin22: I am the man who arranges the blocks! (11:00:42 AM) epmclellan: no, actually, that's me
