About

The objective of this project is to integrate a number of open-source tools and applications to create a comprehensive digital archives system that is compliant with the ISO-OAIS standard and other digital preservation best practices.

The project is also trying to estabish an agile development methodology to assist with the ongoing maintenance and development of the system. This methodology is focused on rapid, iterative release cycles, each of which improves upon the system's

This project is managed by Artefactual Systems, in collaboration with a number of client partners.

All software integrated into the system has a compatible open-source license. All system documentation is released under Creative Commons license.

Current Status

This project is in early stages of development. We expect to begin making more public announcements about the project technology, methodology and collaborators by mid-2010.

We are currently in the fourth system iteration. The most recent software release is 0.3.2 and can be downloaded and run as a virtual appliance

Release 0.4-alpha is scheduled for late September 2009.
