- Suggested preferred preservation format for bitmap images, Library of Congress
- Florida digital Archive has "high confidence level" in ability to preserve .png files: FDA Recommended Data File Formats.
- Library and Archives Canada considers PNG to be a recommended format for still images: Guidelines for Computer File Types, Interchange Formats and Information Standards
Conversion test results[edit]
PNGs will not be normalized so no normalization testing has been undertaken.
